Welcome to The Oberon. The Oberon takes its name from the Arvada community, reflecting
our strong orientation to being community supported and providing a community service for the frail
elderly. We strive to create the most responsive, innovative, and progressive environment available
and provide programs and services that contribute significantly to our residents' quality of life.
Following is a guide for your family member to become a member of our community.
1st - Visit us! Our newly constructed facility has all the amenities of a fine hotel with
more programs and services than your typical assisted living facility. (See the Amenities page)
2nd - While taking a tour, ask for our Admission Packet. Filling out the forms in it enables us
to gain a tremendous amount of knowledge about your family member. We will know their functional
capabilities, cognitive abilities, social likes and dislikes, hobbies and food preferences. We can
create a care plan tailored to meet the specific requirements of your family member.
3rd - Submit the Application for Residency. This will put you in a
position to obtain a place for your family member to receive the best of care in socially strong
environment at the earliest possible opening. Our facility is popular and admission is not always
automatic. It is advisable to get on the wait list as early as possible.
4th - When it is time for your family member to become a member of our community, we will need to
have the admission packet completed. This must include a copy of the resident's most recent history
and physical form from their physicians and copies of your power of attorney or guardianship papers.
Take the time necessary to provide us all of the information that is requested. This enables us to do
our job as best we can.
5th - On the day you move in, you will be required to have all of the admission packet
information completed. You are welcome to bring your family member's own furnishings. However, we do
provide furniture for sale and rent. All clothing should be marked with a permanent fabric marker.
This helps minimize clothing loss when laundry is done. Also, please complete the inventory sheet so
that a record is created of what is being brought into the Oberon.
6th - Stay in touch. You are always welcome to visit the Oberon. If you are inclined, please
consider volunteering. Volunteers help with activities or help residents write letters, read, or
reminisce. Attend our special ceremonies on holidays, birthdays, or with guest speakers. Without your
feedback, we will never reach our full potential. We enjoy talking with you and learning more about
the unique invidual that is now a resident at the Oberon.
